A group of sepratists set off from the complex. Hoping to escape before the Kingfordians and Lanosians got there. They wanted to avoid being prevented from carrying out their operation by escaping before they came and stopped them.

Rasiak Culveen handed the 4 men a huge wad of cash. "For bribing officials.... good luck to you. Freedom for Romburyan!" he farewelled them

The 4 sepratists set off with their arsenal of weapons and the bomb making materials which they would use in their attack. The Kingfordians wouldn't know what hit them when they'd carry out the operation right in the heart of Sirushostan.

They set off in a four-wheel-drive and began their journey into Kingsley Bedford. They would time their operation perfectly in accordance to the operation which was likely to take place soon. After all, that captain was arrested... he might have blabbed about where the boss was already. The Kingfordians would be preparing to head there now. But the brave leader Culveen was to stay and face them. Whatever outcome would follow.

Inarah Complex, Romburyan

The Kingfordian Terror Force, the federal police of Kingsley Bedford were mobilising in an area close to the vicinity of the Inarah. They knew that Rasiak Culveen was only a kilometre away from them and hopefully was unaware of their presense.

"When are the Lanosians getting here?" asked Sergei Ravopotkin, the leader of the taskforce.
"You know them... only come on their terms" an officer replied

Sergei sighed. "Now I can see why she gets so frustrated with them" he replied, referring to Yuliana Pashkchenko and her lack of patience when it comes to Lanosians.

The Lanosians had come from a different way and had now begun to surround the complex in force. Their show of force, however, was tempered with what they were preparing for with the civilians: getting them out. A nearby field hospital was set up and a refugee camp was established for the families in the place and those tents would be needed at some point. The Lanosians surrounding the place knew what was to come and had prepared all this time for it. Translators fluent in Romburyani would go along to coax residents out but those that stayed, according to the Kingfordians, signed their own death warrant. At this point, the Kingfordians can shut up and take lead like a charge against an enemy machine gun en masse Soviet style. A flare shot out from a 120mm mortar signaling the time to rush into position and ready to fight. The brigade rushed to their forward positions now with their infantry fighting vehicles, tanks, and helicopter gunships come forward to do the task of clearing the place out and getting who the Kingfordians were after. The show of force would be needed when the first shots began to ring out. Large speakers were brought forward with the intent of coaxing civilians out. Fluent speakers began to urge them out of the complex within 30 minutes or else they were, for lack of a better term, fucked.

Only now could the Lanosians sit and see if it worked.

The Lanosians prepared to announce the evacuation of civillians through their speakers.

Attention all civilians in the vicinity
An operation will occur in this area in 30 mins, we advise that all civilians leave the area within the next 30 mins for their own safety. A refugee camp will house you until it is safe to return.

Should you wish to remain in the buildings, you do so at your own risk. Please be aware an operation involving the usage of armed forces will take place in this area in 30 mins. This is your chance to decide to stay or go.

Slowly during the thirty minutes, civilians streamed out of the buildings in order to get out of what was coming for them in the next few minutes. The forces were certain that wasn't all of them but they were the ones that had to go in to make sure of it. "Damned Kingfordians could have done it themselves but all they bothered to bring was a few unarmed..." The 30 minutes had hit and the dismounted infantry units began to enter into the buildings, surprisingly without being shot at, to do more clearing and do it by force if it had to happen. The Kingfordians were content on leaving civvies stuck in a building while firefights were abound. The Lanosians weren't, so they wanted to ensure no civilians were putting themselves in harm's way by ignorance. The Lanosians started to clear one of the civvie buildings when they discovered that the Kingfordians omitted a crucial detail: One of the buildings had RSA motherfuckers and civilians. Someone was going to get shot for this. It's a misdemeanor war crime to do that, according to Lanos. And if any civilian died as a result of the RSA doing that, it was a capital war crime. It didn't matter now. The men of the 2nd Panzerbrigadier Brigade knew not to use frag grenades, check ammo and mark targets, no civilian shootings unless they had a gun pointed at you, use stun and flashbang grenades, tear gas ok, and fix bayonets. The rest of the buildings were fair game. First was this clusterfuck of a war crime waiting to happen.

"Get out of here! Go go!" Soldiers barged into rooms with flashbangs and cleared out room by room searches all civilians they could find, even the ones that did not want to leave when they weren't pinned by enemy fire. It did not matter to the Lanosians. As long as a floor was clear, they could get people to safety. And they patted down everyone to ensure that no one was going to pull a suicide bomb on them. Women soldiers did the women, males the men. That would leave the other soldiers tasked to killing RSA guys and civilians with guns. Or subdue the civilians with guns since they had a reason to pull a gun of a bunch of soldiers. The RSA guys had no reason but to kill.

This was going to take a while.

National Security HQ
Sirushostan, Kingsley Bedford

"What the fuck? They're forcing them to leave?" Yuliana was furious with the Lanosians. Nothing was new, she always was but right now she was more than ever. They'd be putting themselves in danger. But that wasn't her problem. As far as she saw it they were warned that RSA sympathizers were among the civillians and could turn on them if forced to leave the area. The Lanosians still chose to go for it.

If anyone asked, the Lanosians replied that they would not be held responsible for civilian deaths if they stayed there. Therefore, that's what justified evacuating the civilians out. Even if they irresponsibly left them in there, as the Kingfordians wanted (for some reason or another. many Lanosians suspected racism), there was still the chance of civilians dying in the clearing of the buildings. And Lanosians would die regardless if there were civilians or not in the buildings. The Kingfordians never thought anything out beyond "lol get the guy!" at all. If anything, Yuliana's comment was ignorant of the fact that the Lanosians were doing the clearing and the entire KTA sat there waiting and leading from behind. If they had an issue, maybe they should do the attacking. The soldiers were being put in danger just by the RSA alone. A Lanosian army private 1st class would be quoted later as saying "Evacuating the civilians was the more honorable thing to do. Leaving them to be trapped in the conflict was something we could never accept." And he was right. Eventually, more Lanosians would join their home division (up to 100k) but that was after this operation.

The clearing of the buildings continued with the rest of the brigade readying to fire on the non-civilian buildings. They were going to need it since, for some reason or another, they could not fire on the hotel. Not even suppressing machine gun fire on the hotel? What was this, get killed en masse day? Regardless, the Lanosians opened fire on the non-civilian buildings with heavy firepower, knowing that the hotel could present a lot more than what the other side could do at it.

The surrounding buildings were accordingly suppressed with Lanosian fire against them though the hotel wasn't. Or was it now with machine guns opening up on the hotel now? Who knows. An order ringed out. "Do not fire on hotel with heavy weapons by order of future president of KB." That order caused a large amount of disgust among the Lanosians, and sighs of relief from the Kingfordians, but they couldn't challenge Yuliana without causing her to strangle them all later. The next order though, would send chills through everyone's spine. "1st Battalion, disregard Kingfordian warnings. You have machine gun fire for you." This puzzled them until "1st Battalion, charge hotel and capture #1 target." That got the battalion's blood going. They readied a Lanosian flag on a pole ready to move in. "1st Battalion, move." The battalion all rushed towards the hotel, including the company protecting the entire KTA, and into the headwinds of an enemy stronghold. They took losses on the charge, mostly due to unkilled pockets and the untouchable ones in the hotel, but they reached the hotel in record time and began to engage enemy targets in the hotel with their weapons and grenade launchers. Their M118 Fastbacks moved forward waiting to use their 30mm cannons. The companies of the battalion began to enter the hotel under heavy enemy fire but they began to push the enemy forces to the upper floors with bayonets on their rifles. They took losses from hidden bombs but that didn't matter. First was to secure the reception area.

National Security HQ
Sirushostan, KB

The videolink of the operation was now being viewed by the Lanosian and Kingfordian delegations in the control room. The tense atmosphere in the room was accompanied by silence which was broken by the voice of Yuliana Pashkchenko

"Where the fuck is he? Why havn't they found him yet!"

The video showed the Kingfordians entering the 2nd floor of the hotel where they were met with gunfire from several militants. The Lanosians were behind the Kingfordians and began returning fire on the militants.

So far there was no sign of Culveen but several key figures of RSA had been sighted and most of them had been killed. So far the operation was going smoothly. But it was far from over. There were nearly 30 floors in the hotel and all of them were full of RSA fighters ready to fire.

At the NSHQ, the Lanosians watching were furious that the first floor wasn't cleared yet the Kingfordians recklessly rushed up forcing Lanosians to move with them. Worse, the KTA was in the way of the Lanosians trying to clear the fucking place. The soldiers following behind yelled for them to get out of the way with one KTA officer telling them to "shut up!" A lieutenant ordered his men to rush ahead of the KTA and they shoved the KTA aside but one man got ahead before a RSA man popped out of nowhere and gunned down the soldier in the head before his comrades gunned him down and make sure he was dead. They rushed to their fallen comrade and screamed in pain that he was dead. Those watching at the NSHQ saw the whole thing since there was a camera on a few of the men at the scene. The lieutenant moved ahead of the KTA officers and began to bawl them out. "You fuckers! He saved your collective asses by taking lead to the face! If you got out of our way and let us clear the rest of the fucking place, we'd get your man a lot fucking faster!" The platoon sergeant tried to calm down the officer but to no avail. "We're losing men thanks to you guys! You could have sent your own army but you wanted us to do it! Fucking let us do our jobs or get the fuck out of our way!" The battalion commander saw the scene behind this group of men and shouted over the radio "All Lanos Army personnel, move forward to secure the building. Disregard KTA personnel and leave them be."

That moment is when the Lanosians moved without the KTA for once and rushed up to secure the rest of the facility, leaving the Kingfordians behind. Now it didn't matter who got to Culveen first. The Lanosians would since they were the ones doing the dying for the Kingfordians. Damn Yuliana and the rest of them. "Go go go go go!" Men began to rush up the stairwells to secure the place. The time was now or never. And when they had the guy, they would fly the Lanos flag from the top of the hotel and give Culveen to the left-behind KTA. And nothing was going to stop the Lanosians.

The Lanosians continued up the hotel until they hit the 13th floor (later called Lucky 13) when they came upon murderous resistance to their advances up the hotel. They started to use live fragmentation grenades and brought up more men with machine guns and shotguns to begin the task of eliminating resistance in order to advance. All the while, the KTA remained stuck at the bottom of the hotel waiting for the Lanosians to get Culveen for them. The battalion commander had made the KTA stay in the now-cleared reception area for their own safety since they didn't have the weapons nor the manpower to clear out the hotel but promised Culveen would be handed over when they got him. Lucky for the KTA, not so for the Lanosians going into the fire to eliminate the RSA stopping them from getting Culveen. The soldiers outside of the hotel had secured the rest of the complex finally and they all waited for the word, in this case a flag, that Culveen was secured and there was no resistance left.

The 13th floor was eventually cleared at great cost. It didn't matter now. The soldiers kept pushing while leaving the medics to tend to the wounded and dead. If they were to prove the Kingfordians wrong after they alleged they were cowards, this was their time to show them that the Lanosians wouldn't back down from this moment in history.

A company of Lanosians had entered the parking complex and caught the group arming the bombs by surprise. This resulted in frantic shooting between the two sides as the Lanosians knew they had to disarm the explosives. Command had found out about it and ordered another infantry battalion to swarm the hotel and lot to ensure no funny business would happen. Radio jamming of the non-official lines went into effect in order to prevent the place from going up if they could prevent. It was a panic as the Lanosians now had to prevent the RSA from blowing up the parking garage and to save everyone involved. Time was going and now the Lanosians had to push up, now at the 17th floor, and push down in the lot.

Rural Kingsley Bedford

In an abandoned warehouse in rural Kingsley Bedford, the Romburyani attackers were setting up their attack. A van had been parked in the warehouse and was already loaded with the materials for the attack. They had been preparing it for the last 48 hrs and were almost ready. Hopefully they would get into the capital with no incidents. And would be able to carry out their attack.

Inside the warehouse a map of the government quarter of Sirushostan hung on the wall. The national security HQ was circled. It looked easy enough to access thanks to the policy of open access to the government quarter. It should be a piece of cake to carry out their attack.

'Is it ready?"

"Yes..."

"Come on then, load it in the van. We have a long drive ahead of us"

NATIONAL SECURITY HQ
SIRUSHOSTAN GOVERNMENT QUARTER, KINGSLEY BEDFORD

"Have they got him yet?" Mikhail asked Yuliana.

No.... the "you know who's" would be singing their stupid national anthem if they had Mikhail Yuliana replied.

Mikhail hated how the Lanosians had turned the Kingfordian led investigation into a propaganda campaign for themselves. His mother had lost the plot. The Lanosians were way over their head and for once he could sympathize with Yuliana. It was clear the Lanosians now only cared about their own interests. And weren't interested in following orders from Kingfordians

After all, they wouldn't even clear the final room. The Kingfordians would be left to do it. Some help they were.

Pathetic really... taking over someone else's operation... then whining about not wanting to do the final room. And I bet you that bitch is behind it all

"That bitch you refer to is my Aunt Marina." One of the Lanosians in the group furiously stood up and looked at his cousin with a look that could have murdered Yuliana outright. "Aunt Marina knows all about her bullshit and a lot of the country she detests doesn't like what she views of it. You should know better Mikhail. You're one of those filthy Lanosians too!" Marina's nephew, Michael Devorska, stormed out and took his guns, helmet and flak jacket, and his medical equipment with him. This fateful incident would prove to be a Godsend to those that survived what was coming for them later. "Well...he's got a point but let's return before more shit ensues..." The Lanosian soldiers, filthy cowards or not, were now on the 21st floor minus the threat of the whole place being demolished. They kept pushing until they were satisfied they could safely bring up the KTA to prepare them to get their guy. It wasn't long until they hit the 27th.

Somewhere in Sirushostan

A van sped through the suburbs of Sirushostan heading for the government quarter. They decided to go the long way to avoid the security checkpoints on the major highway. So far no police were in sight. Neither were the KTA... But they were all in Romburyan anyway.

As they entered the room the Kingfordians shot all of Culveen's RSA protectors.

Culveen realised he had to give himself up.

"DOWN ON THE GROUND... NOW!" They ordered.

He knelt down as 2 Kingfordians pointed their guns at him anticipating any explosion. Culveen didn't fight back. He knelt down and let them arrest him.

"FREEDOM FOR ROMBURYAN" Culveen yelled.

"Shut up!" the Kingfordian officer ordered.
"We don't want to hear your bullshit".

Meanwhile the Lanosians had begun singing their national anthem outside.

"What the fuck?" one Kingfordian said

"They're singing their national anthem... pathetic really" another explained.

It was probably to spite Yuliana. No doubt the Lanosians in the control room were singing it too. The Lanosians acted like this was their arrest, their victory... it was unbelievable. But you could only expect it from them. Now they were leading Culveen out of the room and onto a roof where a helicopter was now waiting to airlift them to Kingsley Bedford.

When word got out Culveen was nabbed, the soldiers began to cheer that this bullshit was over. A large part of the brigade was now in the area surrounding the building complex while the rest was beginning to empty out of the hotel. A platoon of Lanosian soldiers had beat the Kingfordians to the roof of the hotel and raised a Lanos flag from a makeshift flagpole (a soldier's rifle). Thereupon, the entire brigade spontaneously burst out into singing the national anthem. It was a moment for all the men to band together after fighting in combat (the Kingfordians will have you think differently) and remember the dead and be in solidarity as Lanosians regardless of background. Back in Sirushostan though, things were going to be very bad in an instant.

Government Quarter, Sirushostan

A white van had just entered the government quarter in Sirushostan. So far no one had questioned the driver or the other occupants inside and they had entered the checkpoint which now led into the government quarter. In the distance they could see the gray skyscraper that was the national security HQ. It stood there, open and easily accessible and fitted their plan perfectly.

They drove past the parliament building and turned down the street leading to the national security HQ. They drove along the street and came to a halt outside the entrance to the national security HQ. There were no guards in sight. The street was busy and it was clear they would be able to blend in with the crowd if needed. They parked illegally infront of the National security HQ and secured the vehicle.

They set the timer on the device and locked the van. A guard had still not come out.

Now was the time.... it had to be done now.

Inside the National Security HQ control room a celebratory mood was in motion. Both Lanosian and Kingfordians were celebrating side by side for once as news of the capture of Rasiak Culveen came in.

"We did it!" Yuliana said hugging Mikhail.

"Yep... we got him. Will you be at the press conference?" Mikhail asked her

"Yes of course... Hey Mikhail... why is there a van parked in the middle of the enterance plaza??" Yuliana asked. But before she could draw Mikhail's attention to it a large explosion rocked the building. The building shook and the glass windows shattered. Everyone inside ducked for cover.

The room began to fill with smoke.... Crawling to the window, Yuliana could see a burning veichle where the van was parked with a giant crater next to it. It had to be a bomb.

"What the heck was that?" Mikhail asked.
It has to have been a bomb... there's a crater over there

The emergency alarm sounded informing security of an incident. Looking around the control room it was clear that the explosion was fatal. Several people in the room had been killed and many injured. A security communication phone rang and Mikhail crawled through the smoke to answer it.

"Hello?"

"Yes... Ms Pashkchenko and I are ok... but we have casualties in here. There are fatalities and injuries... the door to the control room is jammed... but send the paramedics up here"

"WHAT?"

Mikhail was shaking. Yuliana sensed something was horribly wrong.

Mikhail? What is it? she asked.

"Od mord e ryeachnat" (One of them is still alive) he said in Kingfordian... so as not to let the Lanosians hear them.

Mikhail nodded.

"Lock the doors... don't let anyone except police and ambulance inside"

Whilst they waited for the paramedics to arrive Mikhail, Yuliana (who were trained in first aid) along with a Lanosian delegate who is also a medic began to treat the wounded.

OOC: This will be my last post as a member of this forum and indeed this region. I've deleted all of my posts in this Roleplay, no one else's. Feel free to do what you like with Culveen, Romburyan however is off limits to everyone.

The Carnage in the street below was unlike anything ever seen before in Kingsley Bedford.

The bomb had shattered every window in the national security HQ and most of those in the Ministry of Justice building across the street, which was also in flames. Glass was scattered across the ground and as fleeing workers fled their buildings the wounded lay on the ground as ambulances began to arrive.

A cloud of smoke was billowing from the NSHQ and it was now clear to most Kingfordians that something horrible had happened in the capital and curious civilians were beginning to ascend down the street that ran through the government quarter. They weren't prepared for the scene in front of them.

Inside the control room they were anxiously awaiting the emergency personnel to arrive.

"Where the hell are they?" Yuliana asked.

Mikhail shrugged. It wasn't a big distance from the nearest fire department, they should have arrived by now. They needed them to open the jammed door in order for paramedics to enter the room.

In the street below Police began to secure the area and encouraged the civilians gathering to see what had happened to back away from the scene.

"Step away... please keep the area clear for emergency personnel to access" they called out.

As the fire department began to arrive they were urged to go and pry open the jammed door to allow access to the room.

The medic attached with the Lanosians had missed being injured by the bombing (so did those two for some reason or another) and had managed to begin to treat those wounded in the area he could get his hands on. He began his tasks despite the amount of death around him and tried his best to save those whose injuries that warranted his attention in comparison to the walking wounded. He lost count on who was dead and who was wounded as there were too many for him to count. He wouldn't notice or even care if help arrived but he would work with them until his job was done. He was sure he'd keep up his job until help arrived to help him and he could help them.

The fire department broke down the door to the control room allowing the paramedics to enter whilst Mikhail and Yuliana were rushed into an emergency room along with the Kingfordian delegates.

Mikhail went over to talk to Yuliana.

"Mother is coming to KB. I'm heading over to Harani. She's coming for some awards ceremony. It's likely she'll come to Sirushostan too. Can you handle things here?" he asked her.

Yes I suppose, does she have to come here? I don't know if I want to face her at the moment. She's often unstable when tragedy strikes Yuliana said

Mikhail rolled his eyes.

"If the media calls, don't tell them the death toll" he ordered

Mikhail was led to a car in the underground carpark. As the car entered the street Mikhail saw the carnage for the first time. The building was completely blown out. He turned away.

The car headed towards Harani, where Marina would be waiting for her son.
